1998 October

The Boys settle their lawsuit with Lou Pearlman. Details of the settlement are not disclosed. They also break with longtime managers Donna and Johnny Wright, insisting that the split is amicable. A European tour, scheduled to start in December, is postponed until the following May, giving the Boys time to work out their new corporate identity and spend more time recording their next album.

October 7th -The Boys receive the keys to the city from the mayor of Orlando in honor of the tornado relief concert the group headlined in March. The names this day in honour of the Backstreet Boys.
